1. Who We Are

Buyer Clone is a B2B SaaS platform that simulates how different buyer personas interact with landing pages. You submit a URL, our Cortex Engine runs AI agents against that page, and you receive a report showing where each buyer type drops off and why.

This policy applies to data collected through our website, product, and related communications.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide directly:

• Account data — your name, email address, company name, and password when you register
• Billing data — payment method and billing address; card details are processed by Stripe and never stored on our servers
• URL submissions — the landing page URLs you submit for analysis
• Support communications — messages you send to our team

Information collected automatically:

• Usage data — features accessed, reports viewed, actions taken within the product, session timestamps
• Device and browser data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs
• Cookies and similar technologies — session cookies for authentication, analytics cookies (see Section 6)

Information derived from your URL submissions:

When you submit a URL, our Cortex Engine fetches and processes the publicly accessible content of that page solely to generate your analysis report. We do not store the full content of third-party pages beyond the processing window required to produce your report.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Run AI analysis via the Cortex Engine against submitted URLs and generate buyer persona reports
• Process payments and manage subscriptions
• Send transactional emails (receipts, report-ready notifications, account alerts)
• Respond to support requests
• Improve the platform using aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to develop new features
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

What we do not do:

• We do not sell your data to any third party
• We do not use your submitted URLs or report outputs for advertising targeting
• We do not use your personal data to train third-party AI models without your explicit consent
• We do not share your report outputs with other Buyer Clone customers

4. AI Processing and the Cortex Engine

The Cortex Engine is our multi-layer inference architecture that powers buyer persona simulations. When you submit a URL:

1. The Cortex Engine fetches the publicly reachable content of the submitted page
2. Multiple AI agents — each configured to simulate a distinct buyer persona (e.g., CFO, engineering lead, growth marketer) — assess the page against dimensions including attention budget, skepticism signals, cultural context, and messaging clarity
3. The outputs are compiled into a structured report and returned to your account

The AI agents simulate reading behavior based on the publicly available content of the page you submit. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any URL for analysis. We do not access content behind authentication, paywalls, or internal networks.

AI-generated reports represent probabilistic simulations, not guaranteed assessments of real buyer behavior. Outputs should be treated as directional insight, not professional conversion rate consulting.

5. How We Share Your Data

We share data only as described below:

• Service providers — cloud infrastructure, hosting, analytics, email delivery, and payment processing (Stripe). These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements
• Professional advisors — lawyers, accountants, and insurers, under confidentiality obligations
• Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Buyer Clone, its users, or the public
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the acquiring entity. We will notify you before this occurs
• With your consent — for any other sharing not described here, we will ask you first

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management. The Service cannot function without these.
• Analytics cookies — anonymised usage tracking to understand how the product is used and where to improve it.

You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will impair your ability to log in and use the Service.

7. Data Retention

• Account data — retained until account deletion, then deleted within 30 days
• Report data — retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days following cancellation, then deleted or anonymised
• Payment records — retained for 7 years to satisfy tax and accounting obligations
• Anonymised usage data — may be retained indefinitely for product analytics

8. Data Security

We implement technical and organisational security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, encryption at rest for stored personal data, access controls and authentication requirements for internal systems, and regular security reviews. No internet-based system is completely secure, but we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect your information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain types of processing. To exercise any of these rights, email legal@buyerclone.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. GDPR and European Users

If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: contract performance (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (analytics, product improvement, fraud prevention), legal obligation, and consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies where required).

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For data transfers outside the EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms approved by the European Commission.

11. California Residents
